Mineral engine oil

Postby Headwind » Thu Aug 24, 2017 1:54 pm

Hi hope someone can help; I usually fill my carry with synthetic 10W-40, as i cant see to get hold of the recommended 10W-30. Anyhow I have found a full bottle of 10W-40 Mineral oil in my aunts shed, (from Halfords), it looks and smells good. Would a carry van like mineral oil ???

Just halve your usual oil change interval.

I'm a heathen and with an older engine if it calls for a certain SAE I stick to that more or less but I tend to not care if it is mineral, semi synth or fully synth. Also 10/30 or 10/40 does not bother me but hey, I don't have a Carry but I have had loads of Suzukis, many high milers. However, I am paranoid about filter changes.
